From Fayetteville head to Prichard’s Distillery located at 11 Kelso-Smithland Rd, Kelso, TN 931-433-5454, www.prichardsdistillery.com. Take a free tour and tasting of the handcrafted American spirits since 1997, located in an old school house. Free tours Mon-Fri 9 am - 4 pm; Sat. 9 am - 3 pm.
Afterward head to Falls Mill located at 134 Falls Mill Road, Belvidere, TN 931-469-7161, www.fallsmill.com - Nestled in a lush green cove along the banks of beautiful Factory Creek stands historic Falls Mill, built in 1873 as a cotton and woolen factory. Tour the historic water wheel mill. Offering tours, authentic stone ground products, a museum and even overnight accommodations in a log cabin bed and breakfast.
Then after your tour you can stop at the Swiss Pantry, 10026 David Crockett Hwy, Belvidere, TN 931-962-0567, www.swiss-pantry.com. They are a local bulk food store specializing in a wide variety of foods, including gluten free. Fresh baked goods and bread.
Head to Cowan, Tennessee to eat at Knickerbockers’ Old Time Soda Shop - 113 East Cumberland Street, Cowan, TN 931-273-5827. Step back in time to enjoy an old fashioned soda, ice cream sundae or a delicious lunch. Located in a 1930’s era cafe, Knickerboker's is a destination and memorable experience.
Afterward, while in Cowan, tour the Cowan Railroad Museum located in the Old Cowan Depot, a landmark listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. Museum features historic displays, relics and memorabilia, and a mobile railroad layout. Also features Porter steam locomotive, a historic flatcar and caboose, and an antique diesel-electric locomotive. Travel up the mountain to the beautiful campus of Sewanee University. Drive around the campus and don’t miss the stop at The Cross monument. Beautiful Scenic overlook, plus different plaques in memory of those who died in war.
