 Shelbyville is home to the world-famous Tennessee Walking Horse. Smooth gaited Tennessee Walking Horses developed in this region in the early 1900's and range from exciting, high stepping show horses to sure-footed trail companions.  Experience Tennessee's oldest continually-running event that annually crowns the World Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horse on the Saturday night before Labor Day.  The Celebration is a two week event held every year at the end of August beginning of September.  For more information visit www.twhnc.com. Head to Wartrace, TN and visit the Walking Horse Hotel - stay a night and on the weekends enjoy music and dancing.  Or head to Bell Buckle, TN and enjoy strolling down the walkway full of gift shops, famous restaurant or benches to enjoy the laid back atmosphere. In addition, Shelbyville is a stone's throw away from both George Dickel Distillery or Jack Daniel's Distillery. If you visit Lynchburg enjoy the  Tennessee Walking Horse Museum on Lynchburg's town square. Normandy Lake: TVA's largest lake. This 3200-acre reservoir is centrally located between Tullahoma, Shelbyville, and Manchester. The Webb School: Located in Bell Buckle (pop 396). Since1870, it has been one of the South's most distinguished college - preparatory schools. Visit the campus and the Junior Room Museum, a restored 1886 classroom. More Rhodes Scholars have attended Webb than any other school in the South. The boarding school is co-educational, grades 7-12.
