Autumn on the Natchez Trace

The Natchez Trace National Parkway, the Buffalo River and the Tennessee River pass through Wayne County, making this region attractive to outdoor enthusiasts.

Natchez Trace Parkway, commonly referred to as the Trace or Natchez Trace by locals, is a 444 mile National Park stretching from Natchez, Mississippi to Nashville, Tennessee. Peak visitation months are April and October, when the seasonal changes are visible. The new grass, flowering dogwoods and blooming redbuds in spirng can only be matched by the spectacular fall foliage in autumn.

Tennessee River Trail Scenic Byway will lead you on more than 600 miles of roads meandering through picturesque countryside and small-town America. The Byway winds through nine counties along the banks of the Tennessee River in west and middle Tennessee and travels right through Wayne County.

The entire trail offers visitors a unique glimpse into the past and events that shaped our nation's history. Very few people offer visitors a chance to see sites where major Civil War battles occurred, stroll through historic downtowns or take in some of the country's best music.
